Jill Fitzburgh leverages her extensive expertise in marketing, communications and networking to produce targeted special events, including broadcasts, conferences, fashion shows and marketing campaigns for businesses and charitable organizations. Her recent professional accomplishments include serving as co-founder, board member and executive committee member for the Foundation for Gender Equality, with responsibility for producing two major events to launch The Foundation in 2016.
In her role as Director, Speakers and Panelists , Jill recently produced the Foundation’s first awards program on April 25 -- "Gender Equality: The State of Our Union" This highly successful event honored leading advocates for gender equality, including keynote speakers Valerie Jarrett, former senior advisor to President Barack Obama and Amy Ziering, award-winning documentary producer, among other notable honorees who have made outstanding contributions in support of women and girls.
Prior, she served as the Speakers and Panelists chair for a May, 2016 groundbreaking conference for UN Women titled "A Call to Action for Gender Equality". Jill produced a full day, compelling conference agenda of panelists and individual speakers, combining celebrity spokespeople, experts and grass roots organizers to address critical issues relating to the empowerment of women and girls, as well as the role of men and boys in gender equality.
Currently Jill is developing a major fashion event to highlight hope and healing for survivors of gender based violence and assault, and to celebrate the individual advocates and companies that support that work to end this violence and promote human rights.
Jill is very active in several local nonprofit organizations, including Make A Wish Connecticut, where she volunteers as a Wish Granter and gala committee member and is a member of the Board of Directors (?) of The Center for Family Justice in Bridgeport , which supports victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. Jill feels that using whatever contacts, resourcefulness and energy she has to help these fantastic organizations is one of the most worthwhile and fulfilling aspects of her life.
Besides philanthropic activities, Jill, with her colleague Trevor Mullineaux, hosts a weekly Facebook Live program, “Damage Control with Trevor and Jill”, which is a lively and engaging talk show that addresses topics from relationships and philanthropy to politics and style/design. Jill and Trevor have hosted and produced several radio broadcasts and local events, including political discussions, a career day, fashion and style events, and she has frequently served as moderator for panels and programs.
Jill is also heavily engaged on the social media front, developing strategies for style and design retailers and businesses as part of “JT Love and Style”.
Born and raised in the Chicago area, Jill is a graduate of Tulane University. For the past twenty-five years, she has resided in Fairfield, Connecticut with her husband Richard and has two grown children. Her business credentials include experience in investment wholesale sales for a major real estate investment firm.
Ms. Garner has over 20 years leadership experience in the investment management industry, and serves as an advisor to entrepreneurial individuals and families. She started her firm, Channel Family Assets in 2011 and works as a consultant to large families and individuals around their investments, estate planning, and family education.
From 2002-2011, Ms. Garner was one of a few founding Partners of Highmount Capital, a $2.5 billion dollar wealth management firm with offices in New York, Boston, Amsterdam and Zurich. While at Highmount, Ms. Garner was directly involved in having her firm achieve a number of awards, including the PAM Awards as the best multi-family office in 2011. She was responsible for the firm’s internal investment capabilities and led the investment portfolios and staff. During her tenure, she was responsible for the firm’s marketing and branding. While at Highmount, Ms. Garner was responsible for developing governance and financial education programs for families.
Ms. Garner received her BS from Tulane University in New Orleans and her MBA from Thunderbird, The Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona. Ms. Garner has served on a variety of non-for-profit boards including K.I.D.S. and was a founding and advisory member of The Redwoods Initiative. She has been a member of the Women’s Presidents Organization (WPO), Financial Women’s Association (FWA), New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA), The CFA Institute, Financial Planning Associations (FPA), and STEP. She holds a series 65, and has her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. She has been a member of Golden Seeds, a women’s angel investing group and on the Board of Springboard Enterprises, a venture catalyst for emerging growth ventures led by women.
Ms. Garner resides in Bronxville, New York with her two sons, Remy (11) and Jesse (9). She enjoys many actives including triathlons, skiing, cycling, travel and horseback riding.
