Charles Baker is Co-Chair of O’Melveny’s Sports Industry Group. Chuck's corporate practice encompasses mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and venture capital transactions, with a core focus in the sports, media and consumer sectors. Baker has represented buyers and sellers of sports franchises in the National Football League, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer and many of the European football leagues. Most recently, Baker represented David Tepper, founder and president of global hedge fund Appaloosa Management, in his acquisition of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, the largest transaction for an NFL team to date. He has been featured by dozens of national publications including Chambers, Legal 500, Law360, Sports Business Journal and other media outlets as a thought leader in the fields of sports and entertainment law, and is also a frequent public speaker on those topics. Margaret Butler is a top lawyer at Greenberg Traurig LLP, with a focus on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, including real estate, asset management and cross-boarder transactions. She also assists institutional limited partners with their fund investments and co-investments. Margaret has led the execution of complicated transactions and designed custom structures for investments, participations and business combinations. She has been listed as one of Super Lawyers magazine and New York Metro Super Lawyers “Rising Stars”, The M&A Advisor’s “40 Under 40”, and Euromoney Legal Media Group’s “Corporate Rising Star,” among others. Marilyn Chinitz is a Partner at Blank Rome LLP in New York. She concentrates her practice almost exclusively in Family law, with particular emphasis on complex divorce actions. She has successfully argued appeals in the appellate courts of New York and is recognized in negotiation of complex divorce actions and in trial of matters before the family courts and the supreme courts of New York. She also has extensive experience in representing clients in international custody cases and has successfully prosecuted for the return of abducted children in proceedings filed by her under the Hague Convention. Marilyn was recognized by Super Lawyers as one of the “Top 50 Women Lawyers” in the New York Metro Area. She has also been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Family Law in New York since 2013. Marilyn is extensively involved in children’s programs in her community, and offers assistance to several nonprofits. She is on the benefit committee of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, the Food Allergy Initiative, and the Little Orchestra Society.
Dr. Peter Favaro operates SmartParenting, The Family Center in Port Washington where he concentrates exclusively on court referred cases which include forensic evaluations, parenting education, supervised and therapeutic visitation, reunification and parenting coordination. He has been a technical consultant and software designer for more than 30 years. Dr. Favaro is the author of more than a dozen books on topics ranging from conflict resolution, parenting during and after divorce, anger management, child development, and technology in education. He has been a lecturer all over the world, and has lectured to the bar associations of Nassau and Suffolk County as well as the state bar association. Dr. Favaro recently opened The Center for Improved Human Relationships with the primary mission to promote the causes of cultural tolerance and the importance of diversity.
Wendy Federman is an award-winning Broadway Producer. Her production company, Foolish Mortals Productions, has housed many notable performances including On Your Feet!, Eclipsed, Blackbird, An American in Paris, Hair, Pippin’ and many others. Wendy has been recognized throughout her career with four Tony Awards, five Drama Desk Awards, a Drama League Award, and the Outer Critics Circle Award. Her years of investing in and producing Broadway shows have allowed Wendy to befriend the biggest stars, producers, and directors on Broadway. She has served as a guest lecturer for many charitable foundations and mentors young aspiring producers, actors, and writers.
Sara Hamilton is the Founder and CEO of Family Office Exchange (FOX), the definitive source of information and best practices associated with the business of managing the family enterprise and the family’s wealth across generations. She is the co-author of Family Legacy and Leadership: Preserving True Family Wealth in Challenging Times. For the past 10 years, Sara has served on the Executive Education Faculty of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business for the course on Private Wealth Management offered twice a year in Chicago. She was recently named one of the Top 50 Women in Wealth Management by PAM and was honored with this award for three years by Wealth Manger. Sara serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Wealth Management and Trusts and Estates magazine.
LaVon Kellner has a rich background in marketing, sales and entrepreneurship that began at Hallmark Cards, where she became the first woman in its 75-year history to run its highest volume sales territory, Manhattan. Kellner continued her career at best-in-class companies including Random House and Starbucks Coffee. In 1995 Kellner co-founded Ethis Communications, a start-up that became the premier medical communications company in eyecare. In 2016 she sold her stake in Ethis and its subsidiaries to pursue her passion for the arts. Kellner holds frequent salons in her home to bring together artists, museum scholars, gallerists and collectors. She is a trustee of Children’s Art Guild, Independent Curators International and Baxter Street Camera Club. She also serves on The National Arts Club’s Art, Technology, Photography and Roundtable Committees and is Co-Chair of Friends Seminary’s Contemporary Art Committee.
Gail Lese is the founder and CEO of Lese Investments LLC and the portfolio manger of the Lese Funds. Gail has a distinguished track record in finance and in medicine. As the fund manager of the Fidelity Select Food and Agriculture Portfolio, Dr. Lese led the fund to achieving one of the highest absolute returns in the United States within nine months of assuming leadership of the fund. Gail has a track record of being involved in impact investing, and socially responsible investing in healthcare, community service, and charity initiatives. Her extensive volunteer service has included serving on the Board of Directors of the Mass Mentoring Partnership, the American Red Cross, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Cape Cod. Prior to entering the investment profession Dr. Lese did her medical training in Pediatric Medicine and Pediatric Neurological Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. She has conducted medical and policy research that has received international acclaim. Gail was a Regional Finalist for the White House Fellows Program in 1998.
John Maurello is Managing Director, Private Client Group at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). He leads SIFMA’s efforts related to the private wealth management at its member firms, and is advisor to numerous Committees and Roundtables made up of industry representatives. Prior to joining the Securities Industry Association, he was a senior staff assistant to the Chief Administrative Officer of Salomon Brothers, Inc. He also served as director of Finance, Law Enforcement, Environmental Protection, and Economic Development Audits at the New York City Comptroller’s Office. John created the Environmental Protection audit group, the first of its kind at the Comptrollers’ office.
Parker Roy | Managing Director, Head of Distribution, Public Securities Group
Parker Roy has 23 years of industry experience and is Managing Director and Head of Distribution for the Public Securities Group’s Wealth Management Division. He oversees all areas of distribution associated with intermediaries in wealth management including business development, investor relations, relationship management, and platform development. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, Parker was Managing Director and Head of Distribution for Cushing Asset Management, an energy related asset manager, and was with Morgan Stanley since 1995 where he held a number of positions, including National Business Development Director for their Consulting Group. Parker earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Tulane University’s AB Freeman School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rollins College.
Nancy Wolff is a Partner of the intellectual property, media and entertainment law firm of Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard, LLC. She represents a wide range of creative individuals and companies in all areas of digital media, licensing and publishing. In addition to transactional work, she represents clients in state and federal court civil actions as well as arbitration and mediation. Nancy is a frequent speaker throughout the United States and Europe on copyright, digital media, and licensing for many organizations. She has been published in Allworth Press, International Libel and Privacy Handbook, Digital Media Licensing Association, PDN and Nikon among others. Nancy is the President of the Copyright Society of the USA. She is the Chair of the ABA IP Section Committee on Visual Arts, Dramatic Works and Motion Picture, and serves on the ABA Copyright Reform Task Force. Nancy has been named “Top 100 New York Metro Super Lawyers,” and “Top 50 Women New York Metro Super Lawyers by Intellectual Property.
