ACADIA was born on July 27, 2017 and was named by The Foundation for Gender Equality, a Pawsitive Partner Sponsor. The Foundation is proud to support paws4people and help ACADIA begin her life as a future Assistance Dog. We are excited to see ACADIA start transforming lives!

Trump intervenes to grant rejected Afghan girls entry to U.S. for robotics contest

At the urging of President Donald Trump, U.S. officials have reversed course and decided to allow into the United States a group of Afghan girls hoping to participate in an international robotics competition next week, senior administration officials told POLITICO on Wednesday.

Team Afghanistan was put together under the umbrella of The Digital Citizen Fund, an organization co-founded by Roya Mahboob, an Afghan entrepreneur and Time 100 alum, who said the girls spent the day crying after they found out they wouldn't get to go to the United States.
